Breaking down the name
- O: big
- Soto: outer
- Gari: reap
Big outer reap. One of the basic throws learned during the first year of Taiho Jutsu. It is simple and used very often, on an opponent unbalanced backwards. That break of balance is usually created by countering a Mawashi Tsuki, or after a Taisho (palm strike) to the face.
